Visit - Albury Bible Church

We meet 10am every Sunday at 56 Merkel St, Thurgoona.

The service starts at 10am so people generally turn up from 9:45am onwards, if you arrive early, people will be chatting so you won’t have to sit in silence. We have people of all ages and walks of life at church.

Our services run for about an hour. During the service we'll sing, there will be a time of prayer, and then we'll have a bible talk which runs for about 30 minutes. And then after the service we hang around for morning tea together.

We're a very family-friendly church, we're used to kids running around and making noise!

More importantly though, we believe that the message of the Bible and Jesus is relevant to kids too, and so we want to use our time together to engage them in what it means. We have a short kids talk at the start of church, and then our kids head out to a sunday school program which includes teaching and craft, while the adults listen to the main bible talk.

We also take child safety seriously - all our volunteers have Working with Vulnerable People's checks and we follow best practice to ensure our little ones are kept safe.

You may've noticed we use a couple of key words when describing our church.

First and foremost, we're an 'evangelical' church - this means we take the Bible seriously, we believe it's God's word that teaches us about the saving work of His son Jesus, and what it means to live with Him as our king.

Secondly we're an 'independent' church that is led by a group of local elders. Because we're independent we don't have an overarching structure like you find in many denominations (eg Anglican or Presbyterian churches).
We do however belong to a group called the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC) which is a network of like-minded churches in Australia who want to see gospel growth across Australia.
